Stephanie Woolleys enjoyment of the medium of watercolor is highlighted in her introspective figurative paintings. One can feel the nature of the fabrics, the wetness of water, the smoothness of skin. Stephanie uses dramatic lighting to highlight subtle nuances and give her paintings emotional impact.
Although her career as a painter was not yet full-time, she painted while living in the panhandle of Texas. It was not until visiting her sister in California and watching her dedication to painting, however, that she felt she must take her own talent seriously. She returned home with a direction - a direction that she has been following ever since. She devoted herself to painting full-time. It was a crucial period that allowed her to grow, develop confidence, and increase her technical ability.
Her career has since developed. She has won many awards and recognitions, including OCAA Art Show, Best of Show and the Oklahoma Art Workshop Popular Choice Award. Her work is also featured in the collections of the First State Bank, Taos New Mexico, the First National Bank, Perryton, Texas, and Vance Oil & Gas, Perryton, Texas.
Stephanie Woolleys images convey a timeless feeling. They invite the viewer to share in an intimate moment without making them feel like they’re invading.
