What makes Jay Kemp’s work so popular? Collectors point out the perfection of detail, the exquisite coloration, and, above all, the unique style that juxtaposes illusion and emotion with supperrealism.
Ask the artist what makes his work speak to the soul, and he will modestly tell you that it is his love of nature nurtured by life on his family’s farm in Georgia and hours spent outdoors, enjoying sunsets and snowstorms with equal relish and wonder. A graduate of Anderson College (on a baseball scholarship) and North Georgia College (on an art scholarship), Kemp surely lives up to the promise of his words: "I strive to capture those images that pass quickly in our lives, leaving a fleeting yet memorable impression."
Jay Kemps works in pencil, watercolor and gouache.
